Community service is a critical component of the NE Voyagers as represented by our Compass Point of Community. We live this Compass Point by donating back to the community through two causes. This page allows NE Voyagers to collect donations for either cause at any point during the year. Thanks for your support!

Nourish 282

Nourish 282 strives to ensure that the basic needs of every child within MN School District 282 are met by working in collaboration with our community's civic organizations, families and individuals, businesses, churches, emergency services, and the school community.

Nourish’s initiatives include monthly support in the form of a grocery store gift card, a pantry for non-perishables, personal care items, and household needs, a Free Store of winter outerwear each fall, and weekly meal delivery. Nourish’s newest addition is a small pantry of non-perishable foods, personal care items, and household needs. Nourish is proud to offer a broad range of pre-packaged grocery bags.

David Breen Scholarship

In an effort to make the Voyagers experience accessible to everyone in our community and to ensure our group better reflects the changing socio-economic landscape of our schools, we launched the David Breen Scholarship Fund in July of 2018.

This fund will be used to pay for membership dues and event costs for families who cannot afford additional expenses, but wish to provide the Voyager experience to their children.  The David Breen Scholarship Fund aligns closely with our Compass point of Community, and our core values of Responsibility, Respect, and Caring.

The fund is named after a Voyager dad, David Breen, who brought a lot to the program.  He passed away during his time as a Voyager, which reminded us all of the importance of the time we spend focused and engaged with our children. This scholarship fund in his name will help other dads spend more time focused on spending quality time with their kids.

We hope to raise enough funds to provide the Voyager experience (from kickball to Camp I) to 2-3 families per year.  Please contribute a little or a lot to help make Voyagers a reality for others in our community.
