Early-bird pricing is available until April 12th, and registration closes April 28th. Please note that registration costs cover all costs for Camp I, including Magic Fire, Camp T-shirts, and meals.
Payment must be made online, there will not be any registrations or payments accepted at Camp this year.

Spring camp at Camp Icaghowan is the most popular event of the year.  This special and amazing weekend on the island provides you and your kids with a lifetime of treasured memories.

For those of you who have never been to Camp I., here are some additional details:

  • Camp Icaghowan is a YMCA camp situated on a 44 acre island on Lake Wapogasset near Amery, WI (about an hour away).  The island is connected by a narrow isthmus, so you can drive to it, and is great for kids to be able to run off and explore on their own.
  • The event starts Friday evening and runs through Sunday morning.
  • Lodging consists of a variety of cabins (some with gas fireplaces and others heated only by wood burning fireplaces) and a lodge with various rooms.
  • Events keep you busy for a fair portion of the weekend, but there is plenty of time for father-kid exploration of the island
  • Events include, blindfolded rowboat races (Dad's Regatta), turtle races, scavenger hunts, field games, looking for trinkets, campfire songs, skits, candy scramble, climbing wall, archery/slingshots/hatchet throwing, the "Magic Fire", and more.
  • Kids build or strengthen friendships and dads get to know dads from their bands and others a lot better as well.
Additional Details: 
  • As usual, camp is scheduled over Mother’s Day weekend (Friday May 8 – Sunday May 10).
  • Arrive between 4:00 and 6:00 on Friday the 11th (Dinner served at 7:00 but you’ll need time to check in and get your bunks set up).
  • Check-Out on Sunday at 11:00 so you can get home and spend some time with all the moms that helped make this weekend possible.
  • Cost is $60 per kid and $120 per adult – why is there a difference between kids and adults?  We don’t know. Ask the YMCA. Registration deadline = April 28th. 
  • Early-bird pricing is $55 per kid and $100 per adult. Early-bird pricing expires April 12th.
  • Registration fees include all costs for Camp I, including Magic Fire donation, t-shirt for each adult & child, and meals. 
  • All payments must be made online! No registration or payments will be allowed at Camp I.
  • David Breen Scholarship Funds are available if financial assistance is needed to ensure that each and every Voyager can attend this magical weekend.  For more details please email the Navigators at nevoyagers@gmail.com - all requests will remain confidential.
What to bring:
  1. Clothing for warm, cool and wet weather.
  2. Extra pair of shoes; good walking shoes!
  3. Warm sleeping bag and pillow.
  4. Toiletries – showers are available but rarely used.
  5. Flashlight 
  6. Bug spray.
  7. Snacks and drinks for your cabin (optional).
  8. A bag of candy for the traditional and beloved candy scramble.
  9. Camera.
  10. Fishing landing net for turtle races
  11. Materials and props for Saturday night skits.
  12. Everyone is welcome to prepare a skit (Dads and Kids). Skits should 
  13. be fun, clever, appropriate, and, above all, short.
  14. A good sense of direction for the Dad’s Regatta.
  15. Board games, cards, etc. in case of inclement weather. Absolutely
  16. no electronics, squirt guns, water balloons, or skateboards.
  17. Your knowledge of camp songs, old and new, and your original renditions of “boom-chicka-boom.”
  • Monetary donations for Nourish 282 - can also be made at the event with Cash or using the online event registration page. Note: Receipt provided if donation is made online. All monetary donations will help you band win this year's Super Service Award!
